Our history
1998: Where it started. A neonatology ward full of thick binders. One student with a plan. Frank Stege built a digital document system for Maxima Medical Centre. One of the very first web apps in healthcare.
2000: A family business. Frank and his brother Ben had been tech enthusiasts since they were kids. They turned that graduation project into a real startup. Their father Jan became director. That’s how Infoland was born: a family business.
2003: Growth, growth, growth. More clients, bigger offices. And our first steps across the border, with an office in Belgium.
2009: One suite. Document management, workflows, processes, all separate applications until then. We saw the bigger picture. From 2009, we started building one complete suite for quality and risk management.
2010: Hundreds of thousands of users. We became a leading provider of quality management software in the Netherlands. And in Belgium, more and more major hospitals chose our approach.
2012: 95% of Dutch hospitals. Nearly every hospital in the Netherlands runs on our software. This was also the year Frank took over from his father Jan as director.
2020: New leadership. Frank handed day-to-day leadership to Marieke Kessels as CEO. Fun fact: he’s been back since 2022. Not as director, but doing what he’s most passionate about: innovating.
2021: Hello, Zenya. One and a half million professionals use our software every day. Time for a name that matched our international ambitions. iProva became Zenya.
2022: Zenya goes global. Beyond the Netherlands and Belgium, now also active in the Caribbean and across Europe — think Germany, Switzerland, England, and Ireland. Oh, and something appeared on our radar that would change everything: ChatGPT and generative AI.
2023: Pioneering with AI. In healthcare, AI can mean less admin and more time for improvement and personal care. We were one of the first in our field to dive in.
2024: Home on the High Tech Campus. A new address: Lucis One, on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. More space, more flexibility, and a location that fits our ambitions. Those ambitions took shape right away: in April, the first clients started using Zenya AI Search.
2025: One name, one mission. We used to be Infoland and our software was called Zenya. From 2025, everything is simply: Zenya. And we made an important choice. We’re going all-in on healthcare. The sector we know best and where we can make the biggest difference.
