Of course you can read on our website how much fun it is to work at Zenya. It would be a bit strange not to say so, wouldn’t it? But every company writes that, of course. That’s why you don’t have to believe us, but you do have to believe your future colleagues! They tell in a nutshell why they love working at Zenya. And no, that’s not for just the ping-pong table….
People who know Koen will rarely see him without a smile. At Zenya, he is a welcome colleague and just short of being part of the furniture. Zenya’s open, informal atmosphere suits his personality perfectly. Koen started as a marketer and now works as a functional administrator. ‘My trajectory at Zenya didn’t go the way I initially thought it would, but it took direction thanks to people who inspire, believe and want to think along with you.’
‘My name is Koen Croonen, 30 years old, I am from Belgium (just across the border) and bursting with enthusiasm! I live in beautiful Bree, together with my girlfriend Evi. Lately, I can often be found at the gym or on the football pitch of my pub team Kreyel. If you’re looking for me, look for my friends or family – because I prefer to hang out in their presence with a snack and a drink.’
‘In the summer of 2019, I stumbled upon a vacancy of ‘commercial marketer Belgium’ rather by chance. A position that was right up my street at the time, as I graduated in Marketing & Sales. Very nice how quickly you can have a connection with an organisation and the people behind it after just a few conversations… That is how my career at Zenya started and I have never looked back. So I started as a Commercial Marketer, but now I hold the position of Functional Administrator.’
‘I find the honest and open culture here to be sincere enjoyment! From day one, I had the feeling that I could be 100% myself at Zenya. A feeling that is the perfect breeding ground for growth within an organisation and help build a strong future.
I also like the fact that the role of Functional Administrator is so diverse.
That you answer end-user requests in Rotterdam in the morning and have a meeting somewhere in Antwerp in the afternoon to build a notification type. You travel behind your laptop throughout Belgium and the Netherlands, while learning and applying the software in detail. Add lots of informal customer contact: what more could you want?’
‘I work with a clear schedule, brimming with exciting and diverse assignments, combined with lots of client meetings. What do I mean by this? My work is structurally planned according to ongoing assignments. As a functional administrator, I am deployed to organisations for support in the maintenance and further development of their Zenya environment. These are often long-term projects with fixed, recurring times per week or per month. So much for clear planning.
During these fixed moments, the work then varies widely. Sometimes I work in a project team on a new addition and other times I jump in to answer end-user questions or help with the day-to-day management of the system. In short: variation in activities, a lot of contact with (end) users and building long-term relationships with our customers.’
‘A few years ago, when I was still part of the marketing team, my colleagues had organised a real surprise party for my birthday. I stepped out of a meeting and walked to my desk, which was then suddenly all decorated. Outside, my colleagues had organised a mini party. I drove home that night with a big smile.’
‘Stop doubting and dare to jump. You won’t regret it. You will enter a stable and warm bath, with colleagues you can call at any hour of the day for advice or help. At Zenya, you will find a place where ambitions can be expressed and you will work with people who want to work on them with you. By the way, this advice also applies to internal jumps (if you already work at Zenya and read this 😉 ). My trajectory at Zenya too didn’t go the way I initially thought it would, but it took direction thanks to people who inspire, believe and want to think along with you.’
Take a look at our vacancies! Perhaps you will soon experience your first day of work at Zenya, just like Koen.
