Zenya BOOST is the newest module within the Zenya software suite. Zenya BOOST allows organisations to put current quality and risk management topics on the map. The human factor is crucial here. But will BOOST change something in the market? And what does this solution really solve for customers? In this interview, Marieke Kessels (CEO of Infoland) and Maurice van Abeelen (product manager of Zenya) talk enthusiastically and passionately about the new software. They give you an insight into the creation of BOOST. “We’ve created a unique product that strengthens our overall solution. Now the software has to prove itself.”
Maurice: “We’re always connecting with our clients. We maintain continuous contact with them and listen to what’s happening in their organisations. With the Zenya software suite, consisting of DOC, FLOW, RISK and CHECK, organisations are well equipped to deal with issues such as quality, safety and risk management. But there is another very important factor: the people behind it. How do you get people on board when changes take place or when you want to draw attention to an important issue, such as new hygiene measures? We noticed that our clients are searching for ways to create employee engagement. From that need, BOOST was born.”
Marieke: “We added up things we heard from customers. For example, we have a solution for incident reporting. Customers wondered how to share lessons learned and insights following such a report. Organisations didn’t have enough effective tools to make that happen. We offer instrumental functionalities in our document management software, but that did not sufficiently activate or excite people. Finally, we talked to our customers about themes in which awareness, change and behaviour play a major role. We realised that besides systems, it is the human aspect, behavioural change, that is important for organisations.”
Maurice: “We asked ourselves: ‘How do you get people on board with developments? How are they going to exhibit the desired behaviour?’ If you want to move people, they must understand why something is important for the organisation and themselves. We incorporated this challenge into the development of BOOST, which you use to activate people about important themes.”
At Infoland, we’re happy when we’re helping professionals advance with technology and ensuring that organisations are really in control. In a dynamic and constantly changing world and its impact on organisations, it is important that they can stay themselves, stay on course and keep employees connected.”
Marieke: “Organisations are looking for ways to inform and activate colleagues. This can be done in various ways: via e-mails, by putting up posters or by setting up meetings. But often, these kinds of separate initiatives are not just not enough. With BOOST, you can involve people step by step in a fun, interactive way. You can do this by setting up simple campaigns. A theme comes to life – and you ensure that a new way of working or a set of rules is communicated personally. You can do this by using different types of content. For example: you can start your campaign with a video, publish an article and end with a quiz. The most important thing is that people feel heard and provide you with feedback. BOOST is a unique tool that creates interaction and support and it lets employees learn from each other.”
Marieke: “Launching a new product obviously means a lot to Infoland: it’s a new product and a new story. BOOST is the first module that focuses on the human side of quality and risk management. The other Zenya modules are really focused on processes and measurables. Although we often talked to customers about that ‘soft’ side and about creating awareness among employees, we did not yet offer a solution for this. Now we do. But BOOST also aligns with what we have been doing for years – improving quality, increasing safety and managing risks. We distinguish ourselves from our competitors by offering the total package. By adding the human aspect to our software, we are now even better able to solve customers’ issues than before.”
Maurice: “Zenya BOOST is interesting software for a broad target group. It can be used by any organisation where communicating, creating awareness and activating people are essential. It’s also developed for managers responsible for quality, safety, risk management and communication. But also people who are operationally responsible for a team, such as project leaders, specialists, CISOs and hospital hygienists, benefit from the possibilities offered by the software. BOOST fits perfectly with Zenya’s other modules. Therefore, we expect that our existing customers will initially use BOOST to take their quality management to the next level. But BOOST can also be used as a stand-alone module, making it an interesting solution for any organisation.”
A team including designers, software engineers, marketers and consultants from Infoland worked for little over a year to develop BOOST. Right from the first sketches, customers were involved through pitches, knowledge sharing and individual sessions. Some of the customers participated in the beta test, where they actually got to work with Zenya BOOST in their organisations. The intensive collaboration led to the launch of BOOST.
What do Marieke Kessels and Maurice van Abeelen think of the result? Maurice: “I am proud of what we’ve achieved. We have created a unique product that makes our overall solution stronger. Now the software has to prove itself.”
Maurice: “The tool enables organisations to develop campaigns by using fun, varied forms of content to reach as many people as possible and realize behavioural change. Often, organisations already set up all kinds of initiatives to get people on board, for example, by giving presentations or making a video. BOOST is an extension of what organisations are already doing. Our software ensures consistency and repetition. The advantage of BOOST is that you gain insight in your online campaigns, giving you more control. You can adjust the campaign and take action in response to feedback (or lack of feedback).”
Marieke: “Setting up a campaign requires some creativity – but BOOST provides structure and helps you with that. The software is very easy to use – you don’t need any specific Zenya knowledge to set up a campaign. There is a guide to help you set up campaigns. In addition, we are setting up sample campaigns and we’ll create a library in the future. We will also share knowledge about campaigns on the Infoland community and we trust customers will do the same.”
Maurice: “BOOST is a new solution that supports everything you’re already doing in Zenya. We will keep developing this software; we’re always working on making it smarter. The connection with other Zenya modules will be optimised. BOOST was born from customers’ needs and they have been very closely involved in the development process. We are continuing that because the product is never ‘finished’. We’re constantly innovating, based on feedback from early adopters and our own ideas.”
Marieke: “I’m very proud that BOOST is now live. We have created a unique product that makes our overall solution stronger. At Infoland, we’re happy when we’re helping professionals advance with technology and ensuring that organisations are really in control. In a dynamic and constantly changing world and its impact on organisations, it is important that they can stay themselves, stay on course and keep employees connected.”
BOOST fits perfectly with Zenya’s other modules. Therefore, we expect that our existing customers will initially use BOOST to take their quality management to the next level. But BOOST can also be used as a stand-alone module, making it interesting for any organisation.”
